What is a trailer coupling?
A trailer coupling is needed to connect the towing vehicle and the object to be towed, such as a trailer, to each other. For safety reasons, it is very important that the coupling works properly. Most trailers make use of a ball coupling.
In order to maintain the coupling properly and to ensure it works easily, we recommend that it should be lubricated occasionally with grease.
Tip: when you take the trailer along, be aware that an unhitched trailer, unfortunately, is easy to steal. It is therefore recommended that the trailer is securely locked. This can be done very easily by installing a hitch lock over the coupling point. See our extensive range of hitch locks for more information.
